Amateur Photographer approached me to write part of a feature it’s doing on focus stacking. They’ve also approached a landscape photographer for his perspective on stacking, and all in all it should make for a decent issue.
The fine folks at Wimberley – famous for amazing tripod heads and superb macro arms – sent me a Plamp II with accessories to review, and now that I’ve had a chance to use it for a while I thought I’d put my thoughts online. In summary, it’s really very good, and almost exactly what the vast majority of macro shooters want. I highly recommend it, but don’t be afraid to further customise it to make it suit you even better.
